What Does A Famous Dog Chef and a Pre-School Educator Have in Common?

Three year olds are smart – very smart.

As a preschool teacher, I play with them, listen to them, and teach them. And they teach me, too. Eight hours a day, five days a week, fifty-two weeks a year.

At Kidzone Preschool in Pittsfield MA,  I am known as Miss Barb.  And when I'm not living life as a big three year-old, I am the Children’s Culinary expert and partner of Doggity's Diner Inc. We co-produce Doggity’s, an animated show about heathy eating on PBS Sprout.

I entered the world of preschool teaching to test of the recipes for the TV show Doggitys and gain an understanding as to how these kids look at life, think, eat, and specifically to gain an understanding of their eating habits, likes, dislikes and willingness to try new foods.  Also to gain an understanding of the challenges their parents face/schools face in providing nutritious meals and snacks that kids will eat.

This Blog will contain real life stories about the days in a life of precious preschoolers and will contain learnings and creative ideas on how to change the eating habits of kids, one child at a time/one bite at a time.

So lets begin this journey together. I look forward to sharing my experiences with you, and hearing about yours.
